Troubleshooting:
For 2 speed vehicles that will only operate on high speed:
Lift the drive wheels off the ground and check if both drive wheels turn when the gas pedal is pushed. If only 1 wheel turns, check to make sure that there are two wires connected to the motor on the opposite wheel. When re-plugging the wires on to the motor be sure that both wheels are turning in the same direction. If they are not, reverse the wires on one of the motors.
NOTE: A 1 speed vehicle is only supposed to have 1 wheel drive.

If the vehicle will ONLY operate in reverse or ONLY operate in low gear:
You may require a new switch. Go to www.pegperego to find the service center near you.

Maintenance:

The Peg Perego battery powered vehicles are almost maintenance free; however, it is very important to take care of your batteries to keep the vehicle running smoothly.

Here are some tips on how to get the most from your batteries:

Before using the batteries for the first time, recharge them for 24 hours. Never recharge the batteries for more than 24 hours at a time, or less than 16 hours. Recharging for more than 24 hours consecutively will begin to damage the battery cells, and short recharging times will decrease the life of the batteries.

Do not store the batteries in extreme cold or hot temperatures. If the battery begins to swell or shrink, this is an indication that it has been exposed to damaging conditions.

Do not rest the battery directly on concrete while recharging or storage. This will drain the battery power.

The more often the battery is used, the longer it will last. Using the batteries once or twice a year will actually shorten the lifespan of the battery.

Recharge the battery at the end of every day that it is used, even if it was only used for 20 minutes. The battery will not build up a "memory" effect.  The battery is the same type of battery found in an automobile.  The battery should never be completely drained of power. If the batteries are not being used for a long period, recharge them at least once a month for 16 hours.

Never push the vehicle. This will damage the wiring, the gears and may cause the motor to seize. To transport the vehicle, lift the drive wheels off the ground and push it like a wheelbarrow.

Applying a coat of car wax, such as Armour-All, will protect the color in the plastic and help prevent it from fading.
